Morning and Evening Devotional with C.H. Spurgeon – May 11, 2026

Morning Devotional for May 11, 2026
Scripture: “Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” — Matthew 28:20
“Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”
The presence of Jesus is the joy of His people. There is no greater blessing than to have the Lord Jesus with us. His presence makes the wilderness a paradise, the darkest night as the noonday, and the valley of the shadow of death a place of light and gladness.
“Lo, I am with you.” This is the word of a king. It is a promise that cannot fail. It is a word of power, of love, of eternal faithfulness. He who spoke it is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He who uttered it from the mountain in Galilee speaks it still from the throne in heaven.
He is with us in the preaching of the Word, in the breaking of bread, in the fellowship of the saints, in the secret place of prayer, in the path of duty, in the hour of trial, in the moment of death.
O believer, rejoice in this promise! The Lord is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will be with you in life, in death, and through all eternity.
Morning Reflection
What a tender and powerful promise to carry through the day: “Lo, I am with you alway.” Not sometimes, not when you feel worthy, but always — even to the end of the age. The risen Christ who spoke these words from the mountain is the same Lord who walks with you now. Let this truth settle your heart: you are never alone. The One who holds all authority in heaven and on earth has pledged His presence to you. Walk in that confidence today. 🛡️
Morning Nectared Goad
The Lord who holds all authority has promised to be with you always. You are not alone. 🛡️
Evening
Evening Devotional for May 11, 2026
Scripture: “I have laid help upon one that is mighty.” — Psalm 89:19
“I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.”
It was a wise and gracious act on the part of our heavenly Father to lay our help where it is both safe and effectual—upon One that is mighty. Had He left us to our own strength, we would have been ruined. Had He committed our salvation to angels, it would have failed. But He has laid help upon Christ, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. In Him we have a Brother who is bone of our bone and flesh of our flesh, yet infinite in power. The help that is laid upon Him is help indeed. It is help for every need, help against every foe, help for life and death and eternity.
O believer, your help is laid upon the mighty One. You are not left to yourself. Christ is your strength, your righteousness, your all.
Evening Reflection
Evening falls, and with it comes the quiet reminder that our help has already been secured. Not in our striving, not in our wisdom, but upon the mighty Son whom the Father has exalted. Tonight, lay down your burdens knowing that the help you need for tomorrow has already been placed in the hands of Jesus. He is mighty to save, mighty to keep, mighty to present you faultless. Sleep in that peace. 🛡️
Evening Nectared Goad
Your help is not in tomorrow’s strength—it is already laid upon the mighty One. Rest in Him. 🛡️
Tie-In
Morning declares that the risen Christ is with us always; evening declares that our help is laid upon the mighty One. Together they form one glorious truth: the Lord who never leaves us has placed all our salvation in the hands of His mighty Son.
This is the gospel that steadies the soul. The Savior who spoke “Lo, I am with you” from the mountain still speaks it from the throne. The Father who laid help upon Christ has bound Himself to us by covenant. Therefore we are never alone. Therefore we have help in every hour.
Let the people of God rejoice. The risen Lord walks with us, and the mighty Redeemer holds us fast. In Him we live, in Him we rest, and in Him we shall be kept until the day of His appearing.
Soli Deo Gloria. 🛡️
